Fuerteventura Carnival

The Carnival tops the bill of the agenda in February, and it is widely popular both with the locals and the visitors. The event consists of parades and fairs, all drenched in a very catchy atmosphere. The happening culminates in the crowning of the Carnival Queen, and one of the main highlights refers to a raft race nearby Puerto del Rosario. The Carnival is celebrated virtually throughout Fuerteventura, from Morro Jable to Corralejo.

Corralejo Blues Festival

Corralejo Blues Festival is the perfect reason for you to plan an excursion full of sun to Fuerteventura. International interprets (Mali, USA, France and United Kingdom) will attend and entertain the audience on 27th, 28th and 29th of March.

The Three Holy Kings

The Three Holy Kings (Cabalgata de los Reyes) is a quasi-religious happening related to the Epiphany. Its popularity is explainable by the street parades marching and accompanying the Three Holy Kings imparting sweets and gifts to the children attending the parade. The festival takes place in January and the most spectacular manifestations are held in Puerto del Rosario and other major towns of the island.

Fuerteventura Feaga

Fuerteventura Feaga is an extremely popular event covering the agricultural topic. It consists of farm animal and fowl displays, but a cheese tasting tour is also implied in this manifestation. Also, the event occasions a horse race. It is held in the surroundings of Pozo Negro usually in May.

Fuerteventura Music Festival

The Fuerteventura Music Festival (Fuertemusica) is one of the most appealing music events on the island. It is held in El Cotillo each June, with music bands and artists coming here from all over Europe.

International Jazz Festival

Another notable music event refers to the International Jazz Festival (Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz). This is an event to which numerous famed international jazz artists attend. It does not have a precise location, being hosted by various venues on the island each July. The event is also held in the entire archipelago, becoming, in fact, a mark of the Canary agenda.

The International Kite Festival

The International Kite Festival is what singles Fuerteventura out in terms of events. This is an increasingly popular happening held in November in Corralejo, one of the most frequented resorts on the island. The kite flying demonstrations occasioned by the event draw the attention of both the participants and the spectators which cluster here by hundreds.

The National Day Festival

The National Day Festival (Dia de la Hispanidad) is held each year on the 12th of October. The day is celebrated with all sorts of events, ranging from music performances to parties. Briefly, a sparkling event no tourist happening to visit Fuerteventura in mid October should miss.
